VALHALLA ENTERTAINMENT HIRES STACEY LEVIN AS VICE PRESIDENT OF TELEVISION: Kris Henigman and Phillip Kobylanski Promoted to Director of Development and Story Editor

HOLLYWOOD, CA – August 27, 2012 – Gale Anne Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment has hired veteran creative executive Stacey Levin as Vice President of Television.

At Valhalla, Levin will be responsible for overseeing the development of television projects in drama, comedy and reality for cable and broadcast networks.

Valhalla also promoted Creative Executive Kris Henigman to Director of Development and upped Hurd’s former assistant, Phillip Kobylanski to Story Editor.

Levin comes to Valhalla from Universal Cable Productions, where she has been Director of Development since April of 2011.  During her time at UCP, she worked closely with the producers and writers attached to the studio’s pod deals with Hypnotic, Tagline, and since April, Valhalla Entertainment.  Levin also oversaw the critically acclaimed comedy series “I Just Want My Pants Back” for MTV.

“Stacey has proven her ability to collaborate creatively and effectively on a wide array of projects in different genres with various networks,” says Hurd.  “She will be invaluable to us as we expand our television production slate.”

“I have enjoyed working closely with Stacey and having her as a member of my team. Her talent relationships and her years of expertise shepherding pilots and series have been a vital part of growing UCP into a full service studio. We are fortunate that this new opportunity will keep Stacey close to the UCP family as she joins Gale at Valhalla and we look forward to a productive and dynamic collaboration,” said Maira Suro, Senior Vice President, Development and Current Programming, Universal Cable Productions

“I have tremendous respect for Gale’s creative acumen and I am excited to be involved in all the projects on Valhalla’s impressive development slate,” says Levin.  “And, I get to continue working with the great team at UCP through our deal, so it’s the best of both worlds.”

Before joining UCP, Levin spent nine years at 20th Century Fox Television where she last served as Director of Current Programming from 2005 to 2011.  While there, she handled creative duties on the Emmy Award-winning and Golden Globe nominated hit comedy series “Modern Family” and “Arrested Development,” as well as “King of the Hill,” “Back to You,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Yes, Dear,” “The Bernie Mac Show” and “Still Standing,” among others. Additionally, she supervised the creative direction of drama series “Lie to Me,” “Dollhouse,” “Life on Mars,” “Vanished,” “Shark” and the reality series “The Simple Life.”

After graduating from Rutgers University, Levin started her career in the publicity department at Markham/Novell Communications in New York.  She then worked as an Account Manager and Account Executive at Giddon & Company and as Manager of Communications at Nickelodeon.  She moved out to Los Angeles in 2001, where she joined 20th Century Fox Television as Director of Media Relations, a position she held until transitioning to the creative department.

In addition to her work in television, Levin is also a columnist for Meltdown Comics and their website meltcomics.com. She has also sold an animated project to 20th Century Fox Television’s Inkubation program, published a book entitled “I Don’t Want to Die Alone!: True Stories of Online Dating,” and produced an anti-bullying documentary called “For Billy.”Read the full story on Deadline Hollywood
